Director
Ricardo da Câmara e Sousa is an expert in entrepreneurship education and training and is one of the founders of ENTER-RISE.
He was previously the Director of Simfonec, an Enterprise Centre led by City University representing the Royal Veterinary College, King's College, London, Queen Mary College University of London and City University. Simfonec was a government initiative set up to help deliver new and innovative ideas to the commercial marketplace which was achieved by providing enterprise education to both staff and students, and by providing mentoring and support for technology transfer. This project was very successful since its inception with many initiatives built upon successful collaboration. Previous to this he has worked at the University of Nottingham as a Business Development Manager.
Ricardo developed an extensive background in business consultancy and development whilst working in several projects, private and public, in the UK, Angola and his native Portugal. As a Director of two companies Ricardo has hands on experience of start-up and small business management. He has an Honours degree in Human Genetics and an MSc in Entrepreneurship, Science and Technology, both from the University of Nottingham. He has further developed his Enterprise knowledge at the Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning at the University of Cambridge and at the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Education Development in Nova Scotia, Canada.
